The Chief of global nuclear watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is likely to visit to India on Monday as part of his five-day official visit, an official sources informed.
The Director General of IAEA Yukiya Amano will hold bilateral discussions in Mumbai and New Delhi on various subjects during the visit from March 11-15. He is scheduled to deliver the Indian Nuclear Society Silver Jubilee lecture in Mumbai on 'IAEA Perspectives on Future of Nuclear Energy' on Monday in Mumbai.
Yukiya Amano, 65, is also expected to deliver a lecture at the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd in the city.
The IAEA director general is visiting India on an invitation from R.K. Sinha, chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and secretary, Department of Atomic Energy of India.
A veteran Japanese diplomat, Yukiya Amano was re-elected as the IAEA head for a second four-year term three days ago (March 6) by the United Nations watchdog's 35-nation governing board.
