New Delhi: Hockey India has announced the appointment of the vastly experienced Roelant Oltmans as Director, High Performance. Hockey India Secretary General Dr Narinder Batra said that the appointment of Roelant Oltmans is an important step to ensure that a strategic program is in place for our senior and junior men and women teams.
“Hockey India has been looking for a candidate that not only has the experience of High Performance Management but also understands the unique attributes of working on the sub-continent. We are confident that Roelant will bring his vast experience and knowledge into this key position” he said.
Mr. Roelant Oltmans who is eager to commence his role with Hockey India, said he is really excited to be signing with Hockey India in the first ever role as Director, High Performance.
“Our dream is to bring the glory back to the country. We need to work hard on a single platform that too with the unity, encouraging our players and giving them the right direction which will help our dream to come true” Mr Oltmans said.
It is noted that Oltmans coached the Dutch team for fourteen years and he has many more achievements. Under his coaching, the Dutch team has won one Gold Medal at the Olympic games in Atlanta, two FIH World Cups, three FIH Champions Trophy and the Euro Hockey League.
Oltmans is also the Chief Coach with the Uttar Pradesh Wizards for the Hero Hockey India League.
