Indian team will be facing the toughest challenge in their Super 8 matches when they take on Australia today. This will be the first match of India in Super 8 stage of T20 World Cup.
MS Dhoni faces the toughest challenge to select the best 11 to be played in this match. With the likes of Sehwag, Yuvraj, Rohit, Irfan, Harbhajan and Piyush, he will be making difficult decision.
The biggest problem Dhoni faces is Sehwag if he decides to play 5 bowlers against Australia. Irfan though an all rounder hasn't shown much worth with the bat and he is not even close to be an opener.
Dhoni has said for Sehwag and Gambhir that "The middle order has done well and the two openers we have are the best openers we have got who can win matches on their own".
Zaheer and Ashwin who sat out in England match will most likely comeback replacing Ashok Dinda and Piyush Chawla. Harbhajan too has showed sign of recovery with 4 wickets halt against England but it has been only 1 match.
Dhoni said, "It will be a difficult decision but as now I don't know, frankly. We will have to see what is best for the side and decide accordingly".
Then to tackle Australian team is another issue. Indian bowling has not been that impressive and with Watson, M. Hussey, White and Warner in batting lineup the task is tough as it gets.
Watson, Starc and Hogg will also try to make life of Indian batsmen miserable.
However, India has smashed victory against previous year champion England and has a great track record against Australia as well. So they will an edge and will try to start on a winning note in Super 8.
The match between India and Australia at R Premadasa Stadium will start at 8 pm.
