Matthew Hayden has finally decided to retire from T 20 form of cricket and hence retiring from all form of International Cricket.
Hayden (40) retired from Test cricket in 2009 and played last ODI in the year 2008.
He then played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League in 2010. He decided to rest for some time and then returned to play in Australia's T20 Big Bash League for Brisbane team in 2011-12.
However, closing to 41 years he has now decide not to play in series this year but will be active in helping his team by being a part of boardroom.
Hayden said, "I will be pursuing my initial intention and agreement with the Heat of moving from the pitch to the boardroom, where I hope to continue to make a meaningful contribution to the Big Bash League and the Brisbane Heat".
"I also plan to be very active in promoting and supporting the Brisbane Heat both on and off the field, and to contribute to the long-term success of the franchise," he added.
Matthew Hayden has played 103 Tests and scored 8,625 runs with 30 centuries He has played 161 One-Day Internationals making 6133 runs with 10 centuries.
