Was the attack on Libya's US consulate a planned conspiracy in which US ambassador and three other were killed during a protest yesterday night. Now the US authorities have speculated that it may be a planned conspiracy, which was organized for the anniversary of 9/11.
According to sources, U.S. officials believe the murder of Stevens and three other American officials in Benghazi was not the result of a protest against an anti-Islam film. Officials have speculated that they are investigating the matter to every angle whether it was a planned conspiracy for the anniversary of 9/11.
Officials said that initial investigation reveals that it may be so. The official cautioned, though, that the administration has not jumped to any conclusions about what happened, saying it would be "premature" to do so, the report said.
Current and former U.S. lawmakers, and others, however, claimed the attack looked like a coordinated strike.
Pete Hoekstra, a former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said the attack appeared to have the markings of an Al Qaeda or Al Qaeda-affiliated strike.
"We"ve been talking for years about the desire of Al Qaeda, radical jihadists to celebrate the anniversary of 9/11," the report quoted him, as saying.
"All my background, all of the conversations that I've had over the last 18 hours lead many people to believe that this was just more than a mere coincidence," he added.
