Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who arrived here on Monday night on his three-day state visit, will hold delegation- level talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today where both the sides will sign three crucial pacts.
According to sources, a ceremonial reception in the honour of Abbas was organized at forecourt of Rastrapoati Bhawan Tuesday morning.
After reception, he will proceed to lay a wreath at Rajghat, the mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi.
Then he will go to Hyderabad house, where he will meet Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affair Minister S M Krishna.
Palestinian President Abbas and Indian Prime Minister Singh will sign three crucial Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) for cooperation in ICT, vocational training and constructing schools in Palestine.
Vice President of India Hamid Ansari will then call on President Abbas at hotel 'The Leela Palace' at around 4: 30p.m. in New Delhi.
The Palestinian President will then meet President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Abbas is accompanied by a delegation comprising senior Ministers including Dr. Saeb M.S. Erakat, PLO Executive Committee Member, and Nabil G.O. Aburudainah, President's Advisor.
This is Abbas's second state visit and his fourth visit to India. He will depart from New Delhi on Wednesday.
India's solidarity with the Palestinian people and its support for the Palestinian cause go back in time. India has extended its consistent and unwavering support to the Palestinian issue.
Apart from strong political support to the Palestinian cause at international, regional and bilateral levels, India has also been extending material and technical assistance to the Palestinian people.
