Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had expressed his desire to visit to Pakistan but only after becoming a proper atmosphere, as he told to the reporters while returning from Tehran after attending the NAM summit.
"I am very keen to visit Pakistan and I am grateful for the invitation. But I also mentioned to President Asif Ali Zardari that we have to create a proper atmosphere," Dr. Singh said.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pak President Asif Ali Zardari met on Thursday, a day after Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Ajmal Kasab's death sentence, on the sideline of NAM summit where after formal meeting Pak President had invited Indian PM to visit Pakistan.
In this response, Manmohan said to Zardari to take strict action against 26/11 Mumbai terror activists. Doing this would build the confidence between the two nations.
"Pakistan says it is doing all to deal with terror directed against India. Charging the 26/11 perpetrators is a crucial test of Pakistan's sincerity of bringing those responsible for this horrible crime to book. Zardari and (Interior Minister) Rehman Malik said they were subject to the vagaries of the court process," Singh told reporters.
Prime Minister also added that there is a hope that the scheduled meeting of foreign ministers of both countries in the next month may explore the possibility of my purposeful visit to Pakistan.
