Senior India team members greeted their Under-19 counterparts for winning the World Cup in Australia after their own victory against New-Zealand in the first Test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday.
Little master and batting icon of all cricketers Sachin Tendulkar said: "We were watching and following what was going on in the final in our dressing room. I would like to congratulate the team and tell them that you guys made us proud by raising that beautiful trophy."
Former U-19 skipper Virat Kohli, who led the U-19 World Cup winning side in 2008 in Malaysia, said: "It was a great game of cricket. Hats off to Unmukt (Chand) who led from the front. Beating Australia in Australia in the final of a World Cup is a huge achievement. This is a great moment for India."
Captain cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ravichandran Ashwin also congratulated the team, praising the efforts of U-19 skipper Chand.
