The famous Durand Cup which is one of the oldest cup of the country started today in Ambedkar Stadium in capital. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit with another minister Ramakant Goswami inaugurated one of the oldest trophy of the country related to Football.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said that it is her pleasure that she is here to inaugurate the one of the oldest Football cup of the country.
On the occasion she wished all the participants teams and she advocated that they must be played the tournament with the spirits of game.
She stated that it is one of the oldest trophies of the country and it has its own significance in the game and sports.
Pune Football Club will take on CRPF today in the opening match of Durand Cup. Final will be played on 1 September.
J.J.Lal Pilakhua is the captain of Pune Football Club where as Y.Prio is the skipper of CRPF team.
