Leander Paes and his Russian partner Elena Vesnina have made their place in lasth eight of mixed doubles.
They fended off challenge put up by Belarus' Max Mirnyi and Victoria Azarenka and defeated them by 7-6 (3) 6-3.
They will now face Australia's Paul Hanley Russian Alla Kudryavtseva in the quarterfinals.
In the other mixed double match, Rohan Bopanna and his partner Jie Zheng lost to Americans Mike Bryan and Lisa Raymond by 2-6 5-7.
Leander who was criticized heavily by Mahesh and Bopanna in recent times is now the lone Indian flagbearer at the Wimbledon 2012. As all others including Sania have crashed out of their respective events.
