Airtel Rising Stars: Agaiya Sharma, Kartikeya Swarup and Amit Dhankhar are the best three of Delhi

The three days under-16 soccer talent hunt ‘Airtel Rising Stars’ at Delhi finally came to an end on July 17 with the final selection of three players Agaiya Sharma, Kartikeya Swarup and Amit Dhankhar at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium.

Agaiya Sharma is from The Airforce Public School - Subroto Park, Kartikeya Swarup is from Delhi Public School - Noida and Amit Dhankhar is from C.R.P.F Public School – Rohini. All the three players were fairly selected on criteria based on the aspects mentioned in the Manchester United Scouting Guidelines. The three footballers from Delhi will join players from 16 other centers to participate in the six-day final selection trial, scheduled to take place in Bangalore this September.

The final judgement was made highly experienced and watchful eyes of the coaches based on various parameters including their physical and mental strengths, expertise in position, and technical acumen.

'Airtel Rising Stars'is being launched in association with Manchester United , one of the best football clubs in the world to choose 12 talented footballers from 16 cities of India who will get the chance-of-a-lifetime to attend a week long training camp with Manchester United in Old Trafford, England once selected.

Moreover, the 120 players shortilisted on Day1 but could not make it to the finals will get another chance to show their merit next year. In addition to that, they will also receive Manchester United certificates, signed by none other than Sir Alex Fergusson.

The selected three players from Delhi will join 45 other players from 16 cities who will be divided into four teams of 12 each and will be judged on all parameters like physical attributes, individual skills, match situations and their performances in actual matches. Based on all the attributes 12 best players will be selected who will get the chance to travel to Manchester United for a week and to train alongside the Manchester United Academy team.
