171 people including four children aged between 1 and 12 have been reported dead in the floods of Russia's Krasnodar region, reported natural disaster, RIA Novosti.
Krymsk town has had the worst affect.
Nikolai Warshavets, forensic official in the regional healthcare body said, "According to the latest data, four children including a 12-tear-old girl, two eight-year-old girls and a one-year-old boy, have been killed".
Some 35,000 people and over 5,000 houses have been reported submerged in torrential floods in southern Russia.
More then 10,000 rescuers and 1,000 machineries are working in the area to carry on the relief work, Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov told reporters.
Search operation in Krymsk town including 6 residential areas, rivers' beds and roadways has been completed," minister added.
Meanwhile Krasnodar governor Aleksandr Tkachyov dismissed Vasily Krutko, the head of the Krymsky district.
"For everyday tasks he was a fair manager and did a lot of things. But during a tragedy of such scale, with one out of two residents affected. it was not enough," he said.
Cause of the flood is not clear and Russian president Vladimir Putin has demanded a detailed analysis by the end of the week.
