On Tuesday Indias' No.1 women tennis player, Sania Mirza was awarded a wild card entry into the London Olympics 2012.
This wild card entry has made her eligible to compete in the women's doubles and mixed doubles competition.
Besides Sania Mirza veteran Rushmi Chakravarthy another top class women tennis player and Asian Games gold medallist Somdev Devvarman were also awarded a wild card entry in London Olympics 2012.
Sania said, "I am thrilled to have qualified to represent India at the Olympics in London".
Now after Sania's wild card entry all eyes are on India's no.1 male tennis player Leander Paes who has not taken a final call on his participation.
Leander was forced to play with 206-ranked Vishnu Vardhan as both Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna refused to play with him in the men's doubles team.
He was then offered a compromise deal by AITA by pairing him with Sania in the mixed double event.
Paes was indicating to boycott London Olympics 2012.
These wild card entries has made India's largest ever tennis contingent in any Olympics.
Earlier on Tuesday All India Tennis Association (AITA) received a letter from International Tennis Federation (ITF) that accepted Sania, Rushmi and Somdev wild card entry application.
