All-rounder Yuvraj Singh in his 2nd week of rehabilitation program at National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bangalore, batted for the first time after undergoing chemotherapy in the United States.
Yuvraj then tweeted, "Grilling session at NCA! Happy to hit a few balls after almost 6 months. Strength is ok need to build on cardio!! Target t20 w cup. Let's see".
Yuvraj said his body was regaining strength after treatment of a rare germ cell cancer earlier this year.
"I am right now in the second week of rehabilitation and I am feeling good. My body will slowly become stronger, I am sure," he added.
30-year-old left-hander is eyeing to make the grand return to cricket in the T20 World Cup.
He said, "The target is the T20 World Cup, and hopefully, I will be able to come just before that".
Yuvraj has not appeared in any form of cricket since last November. After his treatment he returned to India in April. He was very grateful to the fans who wished his speedy recovery.
"Great response... It is overwhelming. The wishes of the whole country, I want to come back and play for the country," he said.
Yuvraj is eyeing to play in domestic tournaments that will be played in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
"I have to see the schedule. May be in August, I should play a few tournaments down south. I am not sure about the dates so I have to check," Yuvraj said.
T20 World Cup will be played from September 18 - October 7 in Sri Lank.
