New Delhi, Fri, 15 Jun 2012 NI Wire

All India Tennis Association decided that Leander Paes will be partnered with Mahesh Bhupathi for Men's double event in London Olympics 2012.

As every nation is allowed only two entry for Men's double event, AITA approved on Paes Bhupathi name leaving out Bopanna. They are sending only one entry from India.

Earlier both Bopanna and Bhupathi asked to play together as a team and didn't wanted to be a partner of Paes in the Olympics. But their plea was rejected.

AITA secretary general Anil Khanna said, " We have taken into consideration the form of Mahesh Bhupathi, who won the French Open mixed doubles and also of Leander Paes' Australian Open performance. We thought, these two make the best players to win a medal at the Olympics. That's why we have decided to field them".

They will decide on the mixed doubles event only when and if Sania Mirza gets a wild card entry.
