KXIP vs DC: Punjab wins and keeps hope alive for last four spots in IPL 5

Kings XI Punjab won the 53rd match of IPL against Deccan Chargers by 25 runs and gained the 5th spot in points table. This win has opened the race for last four spots in IPL and Punjab win all their coming game they have a fair chance to make it to playoff.

Deccan won the toss and put Punjab on batting. Punjab's batsmen capitalized on the opportunity given to them with Mandeep Singh shinning the most. He made 75 in 48 balls hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes in his innings before getting out to Ashish Reddy. They gave Deccan a target of 170 in 5 wickets.

Deccan while chasing were never ahead and they kept on losing wickets that made it more difficult. Praveen Kumar, Awana and Hussey took 2 wickets each. At the end Chargers could only make 145 in 20 overs with the loss of 8 wickets.

The match was played in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium of Hyderabad. Mandeep Singh was awarded man of the match for his blistering 75.

Deccan are maintaining their last position in the points table with just 5 points while Punjab have climbed to 5th position.
