First Shaun Tait dismantled Pune Warriors' batsmen as he took 3 key wickets in his 4 over spell and then while chasing Shane Watson took whole of the Pune attack one handedly. With a mere 125 on the board Pune Warriors lost the match to Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets yesterday.
Winning the toss and deciding to bat first didn't helped Pune at all even when they were playing on their turf. They started slow with Ganguly and Clarke opening the batting and then rest of the batsmen couldn't capitalize as well for Pune. Tait, Binny and Watson made it more difficult for them to score. At the end they could only score 125 runs, which was never a difficult target for Rajasthan.
Having lost Rahane for duck Rajasthan whole inning moved on the shoulder of Watson. Though there was one moment of glitch when Smith nearly took the catch of Watson when he was at 11, though the catch was ruled out and instead was given six. And with luck on his side he went on to make 90 in 51 balls hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes. Rajasthan made 126 with the loss of 3 wickets and in 16.2 overs.
The 52nd match of the IPL was played in Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium of Pune between Pune Warriors and Rajasthan Royals, which was won by Rajasthan by 7 wickets.
With this win Rajasthan Royals are at 4th position having 12 points and stars are slowly diminishing for Pune Warriors as they have 8 points with 13 points.
