Both Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders innings were similar in all fashion and the only difference between them was the last ball six. CSK marked a 5 wicket win over KKR keeping their hopes alive for the last four spots.
Batting first KKR started very well with Gambhir carrying on his superb form and making 62 runs in 43 balls. He along with McCullum put a stand of 99 for first wicket. McCullum contributed 37. Rest of the team didn't had much of a contribution and KKR ended up making a score of 158 for CSK to chase.
During the chase Hussey and Vijay put together a partnership of 97 for first wicket in which Hussey contributed 56 and Vijay 36. Rest of the team didn't had much of an impact. CSK required 5 runs in the last ball of the match and Bhatia who bowled the first five delivery superbly gave a full toss to Bravo who swung it to hit a six and won the match for CSK. Narine and Bhatia took 2 wickets each.
With this win CSK are at 4th position with 17 points and KKR are at 3rd with same number of points. CSK has just one more game to play while KKR have still 2 games left to make it to top four.
63rd match of IPL was played in Eden Gardens between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in which latter emerged as winner.
Hussey was awarded man of the match for his brilliant innings.
