After claiming murky deals and spot fixing in Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament by a TV channel on 14th May has prompted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to response on the allegation.
Responding over the accusation, BCCI has said that it would take strict action, if reports were found true.
"If there is any truth in it, it is a fact that we will take strictest action," said BCCI Chief N Srinivasan in a release statement.
"We will have to have the tapes and the moment we see it, whoever is the player, we will take very-very strict action," he added.
Earlier on Monday, India TV (a national Hindi News channel) claimed that the channel had conducted a sting operation in which it's camera had caught several 'surprising' moments and facts indicating that 'all is not clear in the shortest format of cricket'.
According to channel, 'during its sting operation many players confessed on hidden camera that they get much more than their prescribed auction under the table. Moreover, channel also added that spot-fixing was not only prevalent in IPL but also that first class matches were fixed and women played an important role in match-fixing.'
'Superstars of Indian cricket and even an international player, who is a captain of one of the teams, are involved in fixing the matches', added channel in a statement.
