On a track, which was not good to bat, 139 was still not enough for CSK, as Gambhir showed his class, made 63 runs and helped his side win their 5th consecutive match in this year's IPL.
In the 41st match of IPL played yesterday in M.A Chidambaram stadium of Chennai, Kolkata Knight Riders marked a 5-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. KKR are now at second position just behind Delhi Daredevils with 13 points while CSK is at 4th position with 9 points.
After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, CSK had a slow start and Raina was the highest contributor with 44 runs. They made 139 runs in 20 overs on a loss of 5 wickets. Kallis took 2 wickets from KKR side. Then while chasing KKR too lost a quick wicket in form of McCullum who had a rough IPL this year. But steady partnership of 70 runs between Gambhir and Kallis helped the team reach the score easily.
In the last two overs 16 runs were needed in 12 balls but Gambhir got out to Bravo and all was left to Debabrata Das who flashed two fours in last two overs taking his team to victory. Gambhir gave his Man of the Match award to Das for his brilliant effort in pressure.
