Co-founder of banned terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Chief of Jamaat-ud- Dawa (JuD) Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has reportedly rejected the Pakistan government's appeal to limit his public appearances and activities, as United State has announced a bounty of US$10-million upon India's most wanted militant.
According to 'The Express Tribune' reports, 'Saeed's aides said government agencies had 'advised' him to refrain from attending public rallies. Moreover, government has also suggested him to not to attend more public meetings as his continuous appearances might provoke a hostile reaction from the US.
They, however, said Saeed was adamant and would not accept any such demand.
Punjab government spokesperson Senator Pervez Rasheed, however, said he was not aware of any such request made by the government.
Saeed is planning to address a rally organized by the Defence of Pakistan Council (DPC) in Quetta later this week to mobilise people against the possible reopening of NATO supply routes that have been shut after the deadly November 26 airstrike.
