The security arrangement in Assam has been tighten up a day before Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's day-long visit for inaugurating the platinum jubilee celebration of Assam assembly, state police informed to media.

On the contrary, the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), the banned fundamentalist organisation has called a 12-hour bandh in the state in protesting to PM's visit into the state.

As it is known that Prime Minister is member of Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament from Assam.

The peace talk between government and ULFA ended last year after government started suppression operation against militants, fundamentalists, extremists and terrorists.

Viewing the security threats, the Northeast Frontier Railway has cancelled several trains and rescheduled the running of several trains.
