Viewing the huge success of one-day Arogya Utsav (Ayurvedic Health Festival) held last year, a four-day Ayurvedic Carnival is set to begin at Delhi Haat, Pitampura from 24th February with the aim to create more awareness and greater reach to the common men about the strength of Ayurvedic and alternative medicine systems.
The alternative medicine system refers to a parallel medicine system of Allopathic, which is the most popular and common medicine system across the world. It includes Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Unani, Siddha, Tibetan, Acupressure, Acupuncture, Reiki, and Naturopathy medicine systems that are claimed to be more effective and medicine system with fewer hazards.
Giving the details about the carnival, the editor of Vaidyraj Ayurvedic Health Magazine, Ajay Palaha said that the prime object of organizing this fair is to acknowledge the public about the benefits of this medicine system and to create awareness among them that most of the complex diseases can be cured in these alternative medicine systems.
This ayurvedic health fair will be organized Vaidyaraj Swasthya Patrika in the collaboration with Indraprastha Ayurvedic and Unani medicines business committee, a non-government organization (NGO) 'Soch' and Shri Indraprasthiya Vaidya Sabha Delhi, informed Palaha.
Giving the detailed information about the schedule of the four-day health fair, he said that the kick off of fair will be held with a free-health campaign scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm where renowned alternative medical practitioners will consult the patients at free of cost. Moreover Acharya Satyaveer Shastri will demonstrate a program of treating the patients thorough yagya (a process of immolation).
The formal inaguration program will be held at 3:00 by Health Minister of Delhi Dr. Ashok Walia. The other honourable persons who will present at his moment be Padmabhushan Vaidya Devendra Triguna, Former CBI Director Dr. Jogendra Singh and Advisor of Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare S K Sharma.
Comparing the treatment of diseases from alternative medicine systems to modern medicine system, Palaha said, 'Nowadays, poor common men have to spend fat portion of their hard earnings on high-end hospitals, expensive allopathic medicines, and costly pathological tests while in alternative medicine system, patients can be cured from easily available domestic and kitchen products, which are very cost effective.'
The uses of herbal and natural remedies do not harm our body most of the time, Palaha added.
