Will there be a team change after England's 7 wickets win over India in Eden?

New Delhi, Sun, 09 Dec 2012 NI Wire

England thrashed India this morning by 7 wickets in the 3rd Test match played at Eden Gardens to take lead by 2-1 in 4 Test match series. This defeat might change a lot or not at all.

None of the Indian batsmen in both the innings could score a 100. Highest runs came for a bowler Ashwin who made 91 and saved India from a more humiliating defeat of an inning.

Winning the toss India chose to bat first, start was good with Gambhir making 60 and Tendulkar fumbling to 76. The formidable batsmen of India could only reach to 316. Home pitch that was supposed to help Indian bowlers was more utilized by Panesar, Swann and Anderson.

Cook, Compton, Trott and Pietersen teased Indian bowlers and made 523 in first innings taking lead of 193 runs in first inning.

But the biggest disaster was yet to come. On the 4th day, Indians could have batted long and should have made a big score and then try to bowl England's batsman out on 5th day. However, none of the Batsman scored 50 and Indians fall on mere lead of 41.

Though nobody seems to pinpoint but Captain Dhoni has been a flop show for the past many innings and Yuvraj needs time and practice.

First test match India played against England was in Ahmedabad on a flat pitch, where Indian batsman dominated and defeated guest team by 9 wickets. Then the 2nd match was a disaster, pitch was just there for the blame. Actually Indian batting was again a flop show while the bowlers did their part pretty well.

Test specialist need to come in for test matches, one cannot just hope that a T20 player can stand and play for 5 long days. Now the big question is, will this humiliating defeat change anything for India, will BCCI be alarmed?
