Now Pakistan has decided to give the proper respect and honor to the legend Malala Yousufzai as the 'Daughter of Pakistan' and Pakistans National Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution asking the government for the same.
Pakistan Peoples Party's Robina Saadat Qaimkhani moved the resolution and termed Malala as a role model for child education across the world.
"This House gives great importance and significance to the sacrifice made by Malala Yousufzai for the sake of education. This House, therefore, recommends that Malala Yousufzai should be declared as Daughter of Pakistan," The News quoted Qaimkhani, as stating in the resolution.
Owing to her struggle for promotion of peace and girls education, Malala deserved applause and special recognition from the Parliament, she added.
It is noted that the Taliban shot Malala in the head and neck while she was returning home from school in Swat Valley on October 9. She was shot as a 'punishment' for speaking up against the terror outfit and advocating girl's right to education.
After the injury, Malala was flown to the UK for specialized treatment and is now said to be making good progress.
