Both Former captains Kapil Dev and Inzamam-ul-Haq have welcomed the resumption of cricket between India and Pakistan.

Kapil said, "ODI India-Pakistan series will help improve relations between the neighbors. It is a good development. Please don't bring politics in sports."

On the other hand Inzamam too has welcomed the resumption of bilateral cricket ties with India. In an interview he said, "I am really happy that this positive development has taken place because it is important that Pakistan and India play bilateral series against each other on a regular basis".

"There is always great significance playing against India, and it is always special and a treat for people in both countries. It is good we will soon resume bilateral ties and for this I think the Pakistan Cricket Board deserves a lot of credit for making this happen," he added.

"Sadly there have been frequent breaks in bilateral series between the two countries but I hope that this time this will last, and I would urge India to also tour Pakistan and play a full Test series," Inzamam said.

India Pakistan cricket series have been resumed after a gap of 5 long years. Pakistan will tour India in December when England will return home for 15 days on Christmas and New Year.

Both teams will play 3 ODIS and 2 T20s from 25 December 2012 to 7 January 2013.

Lakshman, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble, all of whom have retired in the recent past. It will be very difficult to fill the gaps."
