The incumbent United States president Barack Hussain Obama won the 57th term of US president by defeating his Republican rival Mitt Romney on Thursday. He will continue his post as 44th President of United States.
Barack Obama, the Democratic candidate won his second presidential election in most of the states and secured 290 votes as against the threshold of 270 required votes for retaining his post. Romney was reported as getting 203 electoral votes.
The results are still coming from many states, which will finally decide the margin of winning votes between Obama and Romney.
With this victory Obama became the third President in a row to win the presidential election twice after Bill Clinton (1992 & 1996) and George W. Bush (2000 & 2004).
