Barack Obama has repeated history and won the second term as the President for US by defeating Republican candidate Mitt Romney after mooting all the speculations. Obama is only second Democrate president to win the second term as the president of US after world war second.
However his Republican rival Mitt Romney contests in a closely battle that seemed almost too close to call till the end.
As celebrations broke out across the country, a victorious Obama tweeted, "Four more years."
Obama, who four years ago was elected as the US' first African American president, won 274 electoral votes, four more than what was needed to win.
"We're all in this together. That's how we campaigned, and that's who we are. Thank you," said another tweet from Obama, the son of a Kenyan father and a white American mother.
However the exit polls have displayed the intention of the voters which was slightly in favour of Obama.
It is noted that Barack Obama has become the only second Democrat to repeat the history when he elected second term as a president.
