Australia cricketer Ricky Ponting will play his last International match in Perth. He is calling off quits from all form of the game.
Cricket Australia tweeted to inform Ricky's retirement.
3rd Test between Australia and South Africa will start on Friday at the WACA, Perth. With this match Ponting will equal Steve Waugh's record of 168 Test appearances for Australia.
Ponting said, "A few hours ago I let the team know that this upcoming Test will be my last".
"It's a decision I thought long and hard about, put in long consideration about the decision, at the end of the day it was about my results and my output in this series so far," he added.
Ricky Ponting made his debut in test match in the year 1995 against Srilanka. Since then he has scored 13,336 runs with an average of 52.21. He has made 41 centuries and 62 half centuries.
Ricky played his first ODI in the year 1995 against South Afrtica. He retired from ODI in February 2012. He scored 13704 runs in 375 ODIs at an average of 42.03. He score 30 centuries and 82 half centuries.
