New Delhi, Mon, 26 Nov 2012 NI Wire

England not just won but humiliated and thrashed India by 10 wickets at its home in the 2nd test match played at the Wankhede Stadium here on Monday.

It was a spinning pitch as demanded specially by Dhoni and India played 3 spinners still they lost. Indian batsmen are known for their good play against spin still India lost and India had the home advantage still they lost.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first but it did't go as planned. Indians were all out for a total of 327. A strong batting line up having Shewag, Gambhir, Sachin, Kohli, Yuvraj and Dhoni kneeled in front of the two spinners Swan and Panesar of England.

Only Cheteshwar Pujara and Ashwin fought to take the total to 327.

In the 1st innings of England, Cook and Pietersen thrashed Indian bowlers making 122 and 186 respectively. Pragyan Ojha took 5 wickets and Ashwin and Harbhajan tool 2 wickets each and restricted England at 413.

Indian batsmen on 3rd day could't stand on the pitch and one wicket fell after the other. At the end of the day India was 117/7 with only Gambhir holding one side. They could only add 25 more runs on day 4 and gave England a mere target of 57 runs.

England completed the formalities at run-a-ball as they chased down the target with ease.

Kevin Pietersen was declared the man of the match for his 186 runs in the first innings.

England has leveled the series 1-1 after loosing first Test of Ahmedabad.

However captain Dhoni in the post match interview insited that the same turning pitch should be made in Kolkata as well for 3rd test match against England.

"Of course, we want a similar track as that's where our specialty is. What's the point playing on flat tracks and trying to win the toss and just batting for 3 or 4 days," said Dhoni.

"You want to face challenges in Test cricket and these are the sort of wickets that push you towards that, so definitely all the wickets should be like that," he added.

"I would like a typical sub-continental wicket, which should turn from the first day as I have been saying, so that there is no importance of toss and whichever team plays better cricket wins the game".

3rd Test begins at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata Dec 5.
