England cricket team has arrived in India in the wee hours of Monday and amid high security. They will play 4 Test matches, 2 T20 matches and 5 One-Day Internationals during their tour from November till January 2013.
They arrived at Mumbai airport. This will be England's first tour to India after the 2008 Mumbai attacks, as they had left the tour midway and had returned home.
Prior to arrival of the team, a delegation from the England Cricket Board (ECB) had inspected the stadiums where matches will take place between the two teams.
England team will be led by Alastar Cook, their new Test captain as Andrew Strauss retired. Controversial Kevin Pietersen has been included in the squad as well.
English team will also play 3 warm-up matches.
The first Test match will be played from November 15 in Ahmedabad.
England team will return home for the Christmas and New Year break and would return to India on January 03 for a five-match ODI series, which is scheduled from January 11, 2013 to January 27, 2013.
