The speedster of New Zealand, Shane Bond has returned to the field but with a new task. He is appointed as New Zealand bowling coach and will now mentor the new bowlers.
Shane Bond when appointed as the national bowling coach on Friday said, "This is a role I have worked towards since I stopped playing. The experience of playing for New Zealand exceeded my expectations and I am sure it will be no different as a coach".
"Playing for New Zealand was the highlight of my career from a professional point of view and I thought that once I finished I'd have something to offer," he added.
Shane will replace Damien Wright who was appointed as the bowling coach of New Zealand in mid-2011, after retiring from Australian first-class cricket.
Damien said, "I have really enjoyed working with the New Zealand team and it was a tough decision to leave the position. The decision is related to time away from my family and a need to be based closer to home".
Bond (37) will start his role of coaching Kiwi bowlers from the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
Bond has played 18 Tests and 82 ODIs for New Zealand taking 87 wickets and 147 wickets respectively. He retired from Test match in 2009 and from ODI in 2010.
