In a bid to the strengthen the economical tie up with energy rich Brunei and India, the External Affairs Minister of India S M Krishna is scheduled to a two-day official visit to this gulf country on Friday ahead of Indo-ASEAN summit.
"He is expected to have discussions with his counterpart and have an audience with the Sultan of Brunei," Syed Akbaruddin, the spokesperson of the external affairs ministry, told reporters here.
The visit is expected to enhance partnership further in functional areas of bilateral cooperation and coordination on regional issues, he said.
India and Brunei have excellent relations of friendship and cooperation in bilateral and regional affairs.

Brunei is the country coordinator for India in the ASEAN. It is also the Co-chair of the India-ASEAN Eminent Persons Group, and they are expected to submit a report to the leaders of the 10th ASEAN-India Summit in Phnom Penh in November.
India will host the India-ASEAN Commemorative Summit in Delhi Dec 20-21.
