New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Well known Indian singer Deepali Joshi died in a tragic road accident in Kuwait while going to hotel from the airport on Friday night. Deepali Joshi was visiting Kuwait where she has to perform in a show on Saturday, January 28. The show was organised by an exchange Company in cooperation with the Indian embassy as a part of India's 63rd Republic Day celebrations, Gulf News reports.
Deepali Joshi was on way to hotel from airport and her manager was accompanying her when a speeding vehicle hit their car from behind off the Airport Road. Deepali Joshi died on the spot while her manager Ishaal Naqvi, who is seriously injured, is battling for his life at Farwaniya Hospital intensive care unit.
The car driver and a companion also received injuries.
"It is a very tragic and unfortunate incident," Indian Ambassador Satish C Mehta said while talking to Kuwait Times. The singer's body will be flown to Mumbai after completing formalities, Indian Ambassador said.
The concert was cancelled as a mark of respect for the popular singer from Karnataka. She is survived by husband Paresh Shah, a well-known Gujarati music composer, a sister and a brother.
