Washington, May 3 (ANI): U.S. President Barack Obama has said that he has 'no doubts' over the raid he ordered on the compound in Abbottabad that led to the death of Osama bin Laden.
"There were doubts that were voiced in the Situation Room, but they were not doubts in my own head," the Politico quoted Obama, as saying.
Vice President Joe Biden reportedly wanted more proof that the Pakistani compound they were targeting was home to bin Laden, while then-Defense Secretary Robert Gates favored air strikes on compound.
However, Obama said that 'it was never contentious, because I think everybody understood both the pros and the cons of action'.
According to the report, intelligence wasn't certain about whether bin Laden was in the compound, but the president had confidence in the Navy SEALs which finally made him launch the attack.
"Ultimately, it was a 50/50 proposition as to whether this was actually bin Laden. I did choose the risk," Obama added, because he was "willing to make that decision of sending in our SEALs to try to capture or kill bin Laden rather than to take some other options was ultimately because I had 100 percent faith in the Navy SEALs themselves".
