Moscow, April 28 (IANS/RIA Novosti) At least 3,000 violations were committed during the recent parliamentary and presidential polls in Russia, the Prosecutor General's Office said in a report issued Saturday.
Following the investigation, at least 95 people have been charged with committing administrative offences. Two criminal cases have been opened, and 700 warnings have been issued, the office said.
The report, however, stated that the abuses did not seriously affect the voting process and the outcome of the polls.
The preliminary version of the report was handed to President Dmitry Medvedev in January. It is expected that Prosecutor General Yury Chaika will soon publicly present the report.
"Most of the abuses were related to violations of the rules of forming a district election commission, drawing up voter lists, the selection of places for printed material, and the funding, as well as the procedure of running the election campaign," the report said.
