Kabul, April 27 (IANS) An Afghan soldier opened fire at NATO forces in Afghanistan's Kandahar province, killing a US serviceman and an Afghan interpreter, a media report said Friday.
Armed with a machine-gun, the Afghan soldier climbed on to a building roof and started shooting, killing the two people. Three US servicemen were also injured in the shooting, RIA Novosti reported citing Tolo TV.
The attacker was killed when International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) personnel returned fire.
This was the 11th such incident in Afghanistan this year. A total of 18 international servicemen have been killed in 2012 so far.
Since 2007, around some 80 servicemen of the NATO-led ISAF have been killed by Afghan army, police and intelligence personnel.
