London, April 22 (IANS) Actress-model Pamela Anderson, who is a prominent animal rights activist has jetted off to Berlin to promote a ban on killing seals for their fur.
She visited Berlin on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to meet country's Minister of Economics Philipp Rosler and persuade him to fight an attempt by officials from the World Trade Organization to re-introduce the seal skin trade on the continent, reports dailystar.co.uk.
However, Rosler was not present and Anderson was forced to leave the campaign documents with the politician's representatives.
Anderson has been a leading voice in the battle to stop the slaying of baby harp seals for their fur, and she previously celebrated after Russian officials bowed to international pressure to ban the import of seal pelts from her native Canada.
