Islamabad, Apr 21(ANI): Pakistan Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain has said that India, Afghanistan and his country have decided to set 49.5cents as the transit fee for the 7.6 billion dollar Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.
Hussain said the move will make the TAPI gas cheaper than IP gas and added that Iran will also decrease its price under the agreement. He said the Engineering Procurement Contract (EPC) of IP gas project would be advertised next week.
The 1,680-km-long TAPI gas pipeline backed by the Asian Development Bank will bring 3.2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day from Turkmenistan's gas fields to Multan, and end at Fazilka in India. (ANI)
