New Delhi, April 20 (IANS) The Supreme Court Friday stayed the trial of Gujarat cadre IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who is facing charges of pressurising his official driver to make a false statement before court in connection with the alleged inaction of the state government during the 2002 riots.
The apex court bench of Justices Aftab Alam and Ranjana Desai stayed the proceedings against Bhatt after he pleaded that the entire case against him was fabricated and was a consequence of political vendetta.
