Munich, Apr 19(ANI): Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronald had his three pairs of football boots stolen before his side's 2-1 Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and to amend that a local shoemaker has sent a pair of traditional Bavarian brogues to him.
Local radio station presenter Stephan Lehmann, who is also the Bayern stadium announcer, had sent Ronaldo the flashy pair of shoes given by a local shoemaker before the match.
Lehmann also attached a note along with the pair of shoes, which said the people of Munich wanted to replace his lost pair by the traditional Bavarian brogues.
"Hospitable people live here in Bavaria. We may steal maypoles but not shoes," The Sun quoted the note, as saying.
"We, therefore, wanted to replace what you lost. Here are a pair of genuine Bavarian brogues for you. With them you won't score any goals but you will look really snazzy," the note added.
Ronaldo and teammates Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema also supposedly had shoes and shirts taken. Real Madrid are said to have filed a complaint with the UEFA and the local police is investigating. (ANI)
