London, Apr 19 (ANI): London 2012 Olympics Games motto of "Inspire A Generation" was finally unveiled by Lord Coe, Chairman of the Organising Committee, to mark the 100 days until the opening ceremony of Olympics.
An enthusiastic Coe insisted that London's legacy will be 'more durable despite the doubts and criticism'.
"I hope there is no surprise in the motto. It is the heartbeat, the very DNA of this organisation. It is also a rallying cry to the athletes to come to the UK and perform at their very best," the Telegraph quoted Coe, as saying.
"The achievements of every one of those Olympians and Paralympians will create a symphony of inspiration," he added further.
Perennial concerns around security, transport, ticketing, and even the drought were raised by the international media present at the occasion, but repeatedly the attention returned to the question of what the 'Games will leave behind'.
Landmarks such as the beginning of the 100-day countdown are an opportunity for Olympic organising committees, and London used theirs to try and excite international interest, celebrate progress, and focus attention on a party yet to fully ignite domestic enthusiasm.
Reports suggest that no Games has ever delivered a major boost in sports participation, and London has followed the trend, with more than one million people taking part in the mega sport event after four years. (ANI)
