New fielding coach determined to turn team into 'High Performance Unit'

Islamabad, Apr 18(ANI): Pakistan's new fielding coach Julien Fountain has said he along with coach Dave Whatmore are determined to convert the team into a 'High Performance Unit'.

In an interview to the PakPassion.net Fountain said Pakistan team has scope to improve in fielding, and he is going to do his best to make them a better fielding unit.

"I think every professional sports team is always looking to tweak it's performance, to raise it's game to make sure it's up there with the best, if not actually setting the standard as the best in the world," Fountain said.

"Specifically within my department as the fielding coach yes of course there are going to be lots of little areas that we can adjust or tweaks we can make," he added

Fountain, who was the first baseball player to be used as a 'Specialist Fielding Coach' by any test level cricket team, said he along with Whatmore were looking forward to create an environment that nurtures high performance.

"The philosophy that both Dav and I subscribe to is "High Performance Unit". We both feel that for a team to succeed, there has to be a group buy in from all concerned, players, staff and officials. We will draw on both our experiences from across the cricket world and beyond, to ensure that we create an environment that nurtures high performance," he said. (ANI)
