New Delhi, April 17 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday said he was not aware of the situation on the ground in Afghanistan where a recent Taliban strike killed nearly 50 people but added that NATO had claimed that its strategy was working.
"I don't know the situation in the ground. But NATO is claiming that the strategy is working," the prime minister told reporters on the sidelines of a defence investiture ceremony here.
Around 50 people, including terrorists, were killed and several others injured when an 18-hour dramatic siege of the Afghan capital Kabul by Taliban suicide attackers ended early Monday.
