London, Apr 17 (ANI): A Pakistani-origin British Labour peer offered to set up a 10million pounds legal fund to bring former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair before the International Court of Justice in the Hague, it has emerged.
Earlier it was reported that Labour peer Lord Nazir Ahmed put up the cash as a 'bounty' for the capture of US President Barack Obama.
But a video of his speech at a reception in Pakistan suggested that his remarks concerned Blair and Obama's predecessor, George W Bush, The Daily Mail reports.
"Even if I have to beg in Haripur, Pakistan, the US or Britain, even if I have to beg, I am willing to raise and offer 10million pounds so that George W Bush and Tony Blair can be brought to the International Court of Justice on war crimes charges," he reportedly said.
According to a report by The Express Tribune newspaper, Lord Ahmed was responding to an American reward for the capture of a prominent Pakistani radical, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, who has been linked to the 2008Mumbai terror attacks.
He was later suspended by Labour chiefs on the basis of the Obama claims.
Lord Ahmed expressed shock over part's decision, and said officials should have spoken to him before announcing the move. (ANI)
