London, April 16 (IANS) A two-year-old girl in Australia survived on chocolate for five days after her mother died in their home.
The child was found near the body of her mother -- in her early 30s - by neighbours in Wagga Wagga town in New South Wales.
Ambulance officials found chocolate wrappings in the house, that led them to believe that the child survived eating only that during the five days she was with her mother's body, the Daily mail reported.
The child was found to be severely dehydrated and showing symptoms of shock, the Australian Associated Press said.
An official said the child was "quite lethargic and pale. She wasn't saying much - she wasn't displaying much emotion".
The cause of the mother's death was not known.
