Islamabad, Apr 14(ANI): The Balochistan government has denied any role in Jamhoori Watan Party chief Nawab Akbar Bugti's assassination and claimed the entire operation was carried out solely on the orders of former army chief General Pervez Musharraf.
It has also submitted a written reply to the Pakistan Supreme Court in this regard, The Express Tribune reports.
Balochistan Advocate General Amanullah Kinrani informed the three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, that according to the civil administration's affidavits, the authorities were not taken on board about the decision to kill Bugti.
Justice Chaudhry raised few questions about evidence in the case and the number of accused, which Kinrani eluded, saying that a charge-sheet has been produced before the court against Musharraf.
Bugti was killed when a shell exploded in his hideout on August 26, 2006.
His death was followed by rioting by thousands of students from the state-run Balochistan University and other balochs. (ANI)
