Beijing, April 11 (IANS) Chinese authorities have prohibited web celebrities and people involved in scandals from appearing as guests on TV shows.
The ban has been imposed by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), China Daily reported citing Southern Metropolis Daily.
According to Li Wei, SARFT's deputy director, TV programmes, especially news programmes, should not be too recreational or vulgar.
He says programmes focused on providing career services would be banned from boosting audience ratings by spoofing job seekers.
