New Delhi, April 10 (IANS) Thundershowers lashed the national capital Tuesday evening, bringing down the mercury by a few notches. It could rain over the next two days, the met office has said.
In the morning, lightning and thunder, accompanied by light drizzle greeted the city and the sky remained overcast for sometime.
Tuesday's maximum temperature was at recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above average while the minimum was 22.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above average.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the capital received 0.4 mm of rainfall till 8.30 a.m. while 4.2 mm rainfall was recorded till 5.30 p.m. Tuesday.
The humidity was recorded at a high of 68 and a low of 35 percent.
"The skies will be partly cloudy with the possibility of thunderstorm and light rain for next 72 hours and the maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 36 and 22 degrees Celsius respectively," said the official.
Monday's maximum temperature was 38.5 degrees Celsius, four notches above average while the minimum settled at 23.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above average.
