Adelaide, Apr 8(ANI): Retired Australian cricketer Greg Blewett will play for South Australia in an interstate teams golf tournament at Royal Adelaide, as he joins an illustrious group of people, who have represented their state in two different sports.
"I'm very passionate about South Australia (SA), so the biggest thing for me is I'm representing my state again," The Adelaide Now quoted Blewett, as saying.
Blewett has emerged as one of SA's top amateur players since his retirement from first-class cricket six years ago.
He played in his home club Tea Tree Gully's Simpson Cup pennant championship last year, and was crucial to the Gully's victorious 2010 campaign.
Blewett has been regularly winning national competitions for celebrity and athlete golfers. He let slip a chance to do commentary on Australia's tour of the West Indies and this month's Indian Premier League to pursue his golf experiment.
"I thought I'd give it a bit of a go and see what happens. I just want to keep playing more events and see how good I can get - because there's so much room for improvement," he said. (ANI)
